[Staff Fishing Report] Experience a great autumn catch at Hachioji's Asakawa International Trout Fishing Grounds!
Hello, this is the manager of t-Route.
Apparently, some people were saying things like, "When will the second volume of the manager's fishing diary be released?" and "Isn't the assistant manager being forced to write it as a form of power harassment?" (laughs)
Don't worry. I'm not the type to write, so I've decided to write this article myself! I hope it will be helpful for you when choosing a fishing destination.
◆ Easy access to the base of Mount Takao

The fishing trip was on October 30th. This time, I left the assistant manager behind. He had said he wanted to go once his work was finished, but he had work ahead of him, including the post-release process for the app and preparations for the World Championships in November, so I left him behind... I vowed to focus all my energy on housework when I got home.
After dropping off my kids, I set off at 8:30. I was prepared for traffic jams in Tokyo, but with only a brief delay in Takaido, the journey took just 55 minutes.
From the Chuo Expressway, take the Ken-O Expressway, exit at Takaosan IC, and you'll arrive at the site in about 5 minutes. Another great thing about this place is that you can drive on well-maintained roads.
By the way, it's also convenient to go fishing by train. It's about a 10-minute bus ride from Takao Station. This is a field with excellent access by car or train.
◆ Fishing spot atmosphere and regulations

The autumn leaves on Mount Takao are beginning to change color, making this the perfect location for a clear autumn day.

The reception staff were very polite and the prices for fishing tickets were set in detail, ranging from 3-hour tickets to 1-day tickets, which shows the company's efforts.

A fair points system
The regulations are simple. Worms and rubber jigs are prohibited, but feather jigs and front hooks are allowed. This is also recommended for those who want to practice vertical fishing.
◆ Bargaining in Clearwater
It's been a while since my last fishing trip, and the first place I went was the inlet. The water was as clear as ever. The abundance of fish made my heart beat faster.
I started with a 1.4g BANNA, but a fast fish came swiftly towards me and then sprinted away like a comet...! I dropped the silhouette and switched to a Hunt Grande 1.3g "Ripe Vanna", and the drag started to click with a satisfying reverse bite.

After that, I continued to catch fish with a spoon, but the current was strong and I often couldn't get through the course I wanted. I ended up getting so absorbed in it that I stuck with it for an hour.

That's when the manager, Maa-san, Watanabe-san, came on the scene. He always generously shares valuable information and gives his all to support all the anglers so they can enjoy themselves.
After receiving advice that "there are better fish downstream," we finally moved.
◆An explosive hit downstream!
At the destination, the fish were scattered widely, swimming like a carpet. When I threw in a Daisy 0.8g "Golpele", fish in excellent condition jumped at me.

M2 0.6g Mountain Sky

It was around 11:30 and no release time had yet occurred, but the fish were biting so well!
When the micro spoon started to weaken, I switched to my M2 0.6g and started buzzing, which resulted in a series of flipping bites popping up from the bottom. I also continued to catch fish smoothly using various colors of the "Wow" series and the "Trout Crown GJ".

GJ Trout Crown
Once I found the right lure and the right range, it was normal to catch three or more in a row. I was truly enjoying the "big catch mode."
◆ t-Route original color WAH is also active!

This time's MVP is t-Route Original Color WAH's "Uguisu Mochi Haraori Glow."
The "Uguisu Mochi" has a strong appeal to still-active trout, while the "Haraori Glow" is not too strong and will pull out active fish in clear water. They have an excellent presence and get a good response right from the start! This is the manager's top recommendation.
◆ Summary
The clear water, where you can see the fish's reactions right in front of your eyes, is the perfect environment to enjoy whether you catch anything or not. This time, I was able to fully enjoy the "pleasure of finding the right lure and the right range" and the "fun of learning from the fish's movements." Asakuni is especially recommended at this time of year when the fish are in excellent condition!
There are no releases on weekdays, but there are releases on weekends and holidays at 9am and 1pm. They are also considering releasing fish on weekdays next year. This is something to look forward to!
It was a very satisfying day, enjoying the battle with the fish in a great location. Thank you to Asakawa International Trout Fishing Ground.
After returning home, I did my housework like a trout that sees a spoon like a comet...
Thank you for reading to the end. See you next time in the deputy manager's fishing diary!
